You're those flecks of yellow that brought colour to my canvas.
You've stained my perception of reality.
To wash you away would be a shame...
So I'll paint around your firefly splashes.
And remember you brought light to the dark.
And remember you made it come alive,
With freckled sunshine highlights in contrast to the periwinkle hue.
